Antique stone fireplace – French Restauration style

French Restauration style antique stone fireplace carved by a skilled stonecutter in the 19th Century for a stylish house where the fireplace was salvaged in the city of Ligny-en-Barois in the region of Meuse.

Its jambs, carved with vertical flutes on the lower part, are sculpted with moldings on the upper part. The monolithic lintel is also thoroughly sculpted with concave moldings. A wide cornice shelf beautifully ends the whole piece.
