French Directoire style fireplace with trumeau panel

Antique bedroom fireplace made of Savonnière stone with trumeau. It is composed of a monolithic fire-back. Simple architectural line and beautiful patina. This French Directoire style fireplace was salvaged in a house situated in the city of Ligny-en-Barrois.

The thin drip mold cornice is very imposing. The trumeau panel is composed of 2 stone elements. It features 2 sculpted Doric columns on its sides and a big lozenge in relief on the upper part. The lower part of this fireplace is more rustic. The beveled edge of the streamlined throat surrounds the jambs and the lintel.

This is an interesting antique piece that you can easily place in a small space or a bedroom.
