Louis XVI style fireplace made of Burgundy stone.

This Louis XVI style antique fireplace is cut and sculpted by hand into a very hard Burgundy stone. It was salvaged in a house situated in the city of Macon. Its proportions, its architectural line as well as it thorough engravings bear witness to the seriousness carried out by the stonecutter.

The tapering jambs rest on beautifully sculpted rectangular fluted and stop-fluted foot blocks. The rectangular lintel and shelf are very simple. The lintel is centered by a small protruding panel flanked by flutes and stop flutes. Two wider panels flank the centerpiece of the lintel. The ends of the lintel are animated with triglyphs just above the jambs

This lovely antique fireplace with its beautiful geometric line will easily fits within your interior space no matter your decorating style.
