17th century antique stone fireplace

Beautiful and high antique calcareous stone fireplace.

This 17th century fireplace features a warm patina and a beautiful rustic appearance. It demonstrates the skilled craftsmanship of the former stonecutters. This piece was salvaged in an antique Provencal mas. It was probably once used to heat living spaces and for everyday cooking.

The fireplace features a pair of thin and straight console-shaped jambs topped by a straight monolithic lintel. This last element is highlighted by a thin sculpted mold that runs along its upper and lower edges.

Full of simplicity, this fireplace bears witness to the architectural style of the 17th century. It will definitely outfit your living space no matter your decorating style.
