Louis XVI geometric style hard stone fireplace

This beautiful Louis XVI geometric style fireplace has a superb patina with warm colors.

The Louis XVI style is characterized by very geometrical shapes but also by its sculpted details inspired by Antiquity. The straight jambs are decorated with finger flutes. They feature, at the top, sculpted squares in relief. The same motifs can be found on both sides of the lintel. The lintel features a thin molding along its upper edge. It is straight and rectangular. It is simply centered by a finely engraved panel. On its lower edge, a protruding molding runs above the hearth. The tablet features a beautiful molding.
