This fire-back depicts a Roman and Greek mythological scene: The goddess of Love and Beauty, Venus, holds a mirror and the torch of Hestia (Greek goddess of fire and domestic life) in her hands. This scene is beautifully highlighted by foliage motifs.

This antique cast-iron fire-back dates back to the 19th century. It is sold as-is and can be used as a decorative object or as a real fire-back in front of a hearth or a fireplace.
