Large antique stone fireplace : a Louis XV style and period mantle

This beautiful period fireplace is a large Louis XV mantle that was crafted by a master stonecutter in the 18th century.

Made of natural stone with a nice ocher colored patina, it features a beautiful hand-sculpted central shell surrounded by foliage on the lintel. Inherited from the Louis XIV style, small rosettes and a carved mold adorn the headband. The shelf is wide and hectic. The jambs are slightly curved in their upper part and are carved with rectangular molded panels and grooves.

An elegant antique fireplace in stone, ideal for an installation in the main room of your home.
