Louis XVI style Burgundy stone fireplace

This 18th Century antique fireplace is inspired by fireplaces of Louis XVI style with its geometric line and its engravings inspired by Antiquity. It was made of Burgundy stone by a former craftsman. This fireplace was salvaged in a beautiful executive home near the city of Dijon.

It features beautiful fluted moldings on its straight jambs that rest on rectangular monolithic foot blocks. The monolithic lintel with its molding running along its lower edge is topped by a monolithic shelf. Both are decorated with hand-made engravings: flutes, triglyphs but also a central fleur-de-lis. This last element is the symbol of French royalty.

This very simple but lovely fireplace will easily fit with any stylish living spaces.
