Beautiful Louis XV style bedroom fireplace

This beautiful little bedroom fireplace is an antique Louis XV style stone fireplace. This kind of shallow fireplace was used in the upper rooms of the houses and in bedrooms. This fireplace made it possible to have a comforting crackle in the bedroom during the night.

It features a pair of slightly curved jambs, a sculpted lintel and a thin, molded shelf. A thick bolection molding surrounds the whole heart opening. This molding is very characteristic of the Louis XV fireplaces.
