This antique cast iron fireback depicts a schoolchild kneeling and wearing a dunce cap. He has his arms crossed while he is pouting. There are a paper bird and a notebook in front of his knees.  We can note the following quote: “le grand mauvais sujet” in the upper part of the fireback.
