Large Provencal wash-house-style basin with pediment in weathered stones
This superb "village wash-house" style water feature is a hand-crafted and unique creation made entirely with authentic antique reclaimed stones bearing a nice natural patina.
The large rectangular basin features wide and thick inclined wash-house-style copings which rest on a basement made of large and massive blocks of stone. The coping stones are supported by massive retaining stones positioned outside the basin.
The stonework pediment is wide and features a pair of corbels as well as a magnificent finely molded overhanging cornice. An antique cast iron water spout allows a generous flow of water.
This wash-house reminds us of sunny Provence and the time of the washer-women. A must-have for a beautiful garden ! |
