Stunning round garden well made in worn and weathered-by-time stones

Three rows of massive stone form the lower part of this circular garden well. The thick curb in beautifully worn and weathered-by-time stones (approximately 25 centimeters thick) dates from the 19th Century. It is nicely topped by 2 solid stones and a massive lintel. This well is supplied with its old wooden drum inserted into these two upright stones as well as the chain and the crank handle.

This kind of rustic well was once build near the railway gatekeepers' houses in order to supply water for the steam locomotives.

This ancient stone well would undoubtedly be a wonderful addition to your outdoor space !
