Pair of antique Medici vases in weathered Burgundy stone

Named after the illustrious Italian Medici family, this iconic vase is instantly recognizable by its elegant bell-shaped silhouette. 

Classic in proportion and design, this pair embodies all the defining characteristics of the Medici style : a flared rim with a finely molded lip adorned with stylized floral motifs, a generously rounded body enhanced with opulent gadrooning, and a substantial circular base raised on a molded pedestal foot.

The refinement of these sculptural details lends the vases a sophisticated and decorative presence. Their generous opening allows for substantial floral compositions, while they may equally be displayed empty to fully appreciate their sculptural quality.

Condition : age-related wear and minor losses. One vase shows evidence of an old restoration secured with two metal staples. Both pieces are drilled at the base to allow water drainage.
