This beautiful antique cast iron fire back is square.

It features a central representation of the God Neptune. This central element is surrounded by a beautiful molded frame. Neptune, in Roman mythology, is the god of the oceans and seas. He is usually represented naked with a long and thick beard and proudly holding a trident in his hand. Here he is depicted standing in his shell chariot, drawn by two spirited horses. The scene is surrounded by two beautiful branches of laurel.
