Wonderful finely sculpted Louis XVI style stone fireplace

Louis XVI style fireplace with straight jambs engraved with fluted pilasters and topped by modillions that look like headpieces. The jambs sit on thick foot blocks and are topped by a rectangular monolithic lintel. This last element is animated by hand-sculpted ornaments (characteristic features of the Louis XVI style) and is centered by wheat sheaves.

A craftsman made this Burgundy hard stone fireplace in the 19th Century. It was salvaged in a beautiful stone house situated in the city of Beauné.

This antique fireplace has a very modern appearance. It will easily outfit a small room and will brighten up any living spaces.
