This lovely small antique fireplace is made of white semi soft stone. Carved into French natural stone (Savonniere stone) in the 19th century, it is inspired by the Louis XIV style with its bolection molding surrounding the hearth opening. The corners of the lintel are decorated with protruding quarter circles shaped engravings. The console-shaped jambs are stocky and the wide tablet above the lintel is thoroughly molded.
Its small size leads us to think that it was initially a model. I find it quite funny! Why don’t you place it in a bedroom?
