Napoleon I style mantle

This wonderful Empire style antique mantle has the uniqueness of mixing stone and wood.

With a wooden shelf that tops the whole lintel, this beautiful Napoleon I mantle features sumptuous sculptures on its lintel: rectangular panels surrounded by a frieze with gadroons on the top and a frieze with dentils on the bottom. These panels are delimited by carved columns with acanthus leaves. The wooden cornice is also beautifully enhanced with sculptures of flowers. The carvings of the lintel can be found on the lateral sides of the mantle. Each jamb features a double Corinthian column that goes up to the underside of the wooden shelf. The hearth is ornamented by a Greek-style opening base.
