Lovely small Louis XV style antique stone chimney

It features the characteristics of this architectural style: the thick bolection moulding that surrounds the whole hearth opening while highlighting it. The jambs of this beautiful chimney are thin, slender and curved. They hold a monolithic lintel that forms a shelf. This lintel is very beautifully adorned with thin sculptures of breastplates. The shelf is also moulded. The mouldings continue along the sides.

The Louis XV style is also called “Louis XV geometric style”.

With ideal dimensions, this antique chimney features a wide hearth opening. It can be used both as an open chimney or a closed chimney with an insert.
