Wonderful and elegant Louis XV wedding style fireplace with trumeau

Wonderful Louis XV wedding style fireplace made of white stone quarried from Sainte Hermine in Vendée. Carefully sculpted, this fireplace has several carved details:

Thin and straight jambs topped by a shapely lintel shaped like a crossbow centered by a tablet carved with a heart. This nicely carved heart symbolizes a wedding gift. The hearth opening is flanked by rope moldings that are Louis XV in style. The hood is slightly sculpted with thin vertical column moldings and hand-carved circular paterae on each side. The centerpiece is beautifully molded with a frame in relief, moldings and curves. The rounded cornice has also beautiful moldings.

This fireplace wad unassembled in a nice abandoned stone house in Vendée (French Department). The quality of the pieces salvaged in this house reveal that the fireplace was probably owned by a noble family during the 18th century.
