Louis XIII style antique stone fireplace

This unique Louis XIII style antique stone fireplace is wonderful and dates back to the 17th century. Its great proportions and its white-toned natural patina make it very elegant!

This countryside fireplace features a pair of high and thin console shaped jambs that rests on foot blocks.  A wide monolithic lintel and a beautifully molded cornice end the whole piece. During this period, fireplaces were built into the wall. They were used for both cooking and warming very large spaces.
