Wonderful Louis XVI style antique stone fireplace with trumeau

Elegant Louis XVI style antique fireplace made of stone from Pons.

This Louis XVI style fireplace has an architectural line with its geometric moldings and comes from the Charentes region. It was thoroughly restored in our workshops by our consummate master craftsmen in the Vaucluse region.

We can admire the daintiness of the trumeau and lintel details. The jambs are straight and thoroughly carved with lozenges. The monolithic lintel is rectangular. The frieze is beautifully carved with a continuous floral strip flanked by open finger flutes.

The trumeau is wonderfully carved: inlaid frame with a first dentil molding edge and a second rope molding edge and flanked by two antique vertical finger fluted panels and topped by an imposing overhanging cornice.

A wonderful fireplace thoroughly carved that will add an authentic feel to your home.
