Antique stone fireplace with a finely sculpted trumeau

This antique stone fireplace with overmantel is an exceptional mantelpiece !

Combining rustic charm with classical elegance, this antique fireplace blends Louis XIII and Louis XVI styles : its wide opening, typical of the Louis XIII style, is paired with the clean lines and geometric motifs characteristic of the Louis XVI style.

Tall and harmonious, it features curved jambs ending in corbels supporting a massive, richly hand-sculpted lintel.
The modestly sized overmantel is lavishly decorated with a variety of geometric motifs : diamonds, flowers, stars, molded framed panels, and raised columns. The delicately molded cornice sculpted with dentils completes the ensemble with refined elegance.

An exceptional example of craftsmanship, combining intricate detail with unique character.
