Large antique hard stone trough with a rustic appearance and a beautiful patina

This rustic monolithic stone trough was hand carved out of a hard calcareous stone. Today, it is beautifully weathered and features mossy growth.

This antique rectangular stone trough was once used à a larder. We can still see traces of hinges on its edges that were used to hold a wooden door to protect food from moisture, light and rodents.

Today, this large antique trough can be used as a flowerpot. Its large capacity and its resistance are fully suitable for plants, ornamental flowers, box trees, bamboos, small fruit trees (lemon tress, olive trees, orange trees etc.).
