Large 19th-century French Regency-style Volvic stone mantelpiece

This large antique Volvic stone fireplace dates back to the 19th century and is inspired by French Regency-style mantelpieces.

Volvic stone, a volcanic stone quarried in central France, ranges in color from light gray to deeper shades.

This mantel features two straight jambs carved with fluting that support an undulating lintel that acts as a shelf. This low-arched lintel is enhanced by an opulent molding and adorned with beautiful sculptures, including a central geometric motif within a cartouche, flanked by two recessed panels that echo the decorative motifs at the top of the jambs.

An elegant antique fireplace that combines refined Regency ornamentation with clean, straight lines.
