Wonderful antique Burgundy hard stone fireplace

This unique Art Deco style fireplace was imagined and carved by a stonecutter in the late 19th Century. It is made of Buxy Bayadere stone. This natural compact-grained Burgundian stone is exceptional and has a blend of warm colors: gray, blue, gold and yellow.

This fireplace has beautifully curved jambs resting on monolithic foot blocks. The monolithic lintel is thin and centered by a carved circular arc. A molded shelf tops the whole piece.
