Carved and hand-sculpted by a craftsman in the 19th century, this antique fireplace was made in a beautiful red and white marble. This beautiful Napoleon III style fireplace has all the characteristics associated with this style: sumptuousness, exuberance of forms, a profusion of decorative motifs and eclecticism inspired by Antiquity, the Ancien Régime, the Renaissance or the Louis XVI Style…
This fireplace has a fine moulded shelf that gently rests on a thick lintel. The straight jambs are topped by modillions with scrolls that rest on two reversed foliage looking like corbels. The whole piece rests on a plinth and is decorated with molded panels.
This fireplace has a beautiful appearance and a design reminiscent of the pomp of Haussmann's 19th century apartments.
