Louis XIV Style red and white marble mantle with Bolection molding

This 19th century, Louis XIV Style antique molded mantle was carved and finely hand-sculpted into a beautiful red marble veined with white.

This Louis XIV style is particularly characterized by a low-arched lintel and a bolection molding that runs along the whole hearth opening. The lintel is decorated with spandrels and topped by a thin molded shelf. The straight jambs rest on foot blocks.
