Beautiful Louis XVI fireplace with trumeau in Jaumont stone

This beautiful antique French fireplace with trumeau was hand-carved in the 18th Century and sculpted in the nice natural stone of Jaumont, a natural ocher/yellow limestone extracted in the East of France. It is of the Louis XVI geometric style.

This elegant fireplace has fine straight jambs which support a monolith rectangular lintel and a shelf, as well as a trumeau decorated with a molded frame and a pair of colonnades carved in relief. The cornice is also very finely molded.

An antique fireplace, elegant and sober at the same time, with warm tones realized by a craftsman of the time in a noble, durable and ecological material : the natural stone ! This Louis XVI fireplace will most certainly delight your interior.
