Louis XV fireplace with trumeau and sculpted fleur-de-lis lintel

Beautiful antique Louis XV fireplace with trumeau, crafted from Charente limestone.

Its refined simplicity and the warm ochre hue of the stone give it all its charm and distinctive character.

The stonework trumeau is topped by a beautifully molded cornice, while the lower portion of the fireplace features more intricate hand-sculpted details : gracefully curved jambs, a monolithic lintel with a crossbow shape, and a hand-carved shield adorned with a fleur-de-lis in relief (a symbol of French royalty). A thin molded shelf completes this mantel. The bolection molding framing the hearth, a classic feature of mid-17th-century design, adds some elegance.

With its understated elegance, this stone fireplace dating from the 18th century will set in perfectly with any interior, making it a striking centerpiece.
