Elegant Louis XIV-style stone fireplace with trumeau
This antique stone fireplace with trumeau dates from the late 17th century. A fine example of Louis XIV-style design, combining perfect symmetry with Italian and classical influences.
A pair of inclined jambs elegantly supports a monolithic lintel with a thin molded shelf. The hood (or trumeau) is crowned by a finely overhanging molded cornice. At its center, the trumeau features a sculpted relief frame, intended to hold a painted decoration or mirror.
With its refined elegance and understated sophistication, this beautiful antique white limestone fireplace will harmonize effortlessly with any interior décor.
