French 19th Century antique stone fireplace with jambs sculpted with colonnade

This antique stone fireplace is a rare and unique mantle !

This Empire style fireplace (1803 - 1821), an early 19th century mantle, has a facade hand carved with 2 detached columns as jambs. The latter are cut in the mass and carved, in addition to the colonnades, with solid rectangular curved facades that reduce the firebox opening.
The thick rectangular lintel is monolithic is animated with fine horizontal moldings under the shelf and above the hearth opening as well as a succession of vertical grooves.

Its small size and its narrow firebox opening make this beautiful stone fireplace perfectly suited for small spaces.
