Antique Louis XVI mantel with overmantel in patinated beige limestone

This elegant mantelpiece in ochre limestone beautifully patinated by time is a Louis XVI fireplace mantel featuring a trumeau (also called "hood" or "overmantel").

The Louis XVI style is characterized by pure lines and geometric shapes.

This mantel features a pair of straight and slanted jambs supporting a monolithic lintel with a barrette. The trumeau is slightly more elaborate and features a molded breastplate in its center (the ideal place for a frame or a painting) and a pair of columns sculpted in relief on either side. The drip edge cornice is fine and very elegant with its beautiful moldings.

An elegant fireplace full of charm and history, ideal to enhance the main room of your home.
