Antique wrought iron gates painted in green and gold

These two antique "Art Nouveau" style openwork gates in solid and riveted wrought-iron are beautifully lacquered in green and gold.
This color combination is not merely aesthetic but has a strong symbolic meaning :
- The green allows the metal structure to blend into the garden's vegetation,
- The gold, which highlights certain ornamental details, historically served to display the owner's wealth at the entrance to the estate.

Dating from the 1940s-1950s, this iconic piece of wrought ironwork evokes the prestige of bourgeois residences and public parks.

Each openwork gate showcases exquisite ironwork : long, fluid, and asymmetrical lines, reminiscent of the organic growth of plants, scrolls and tori, as well as two beautiful gilded acanthus leaves.

These gates could be used both indoors (in a hallway, in a corridor, on a wall) and outdoors, to create, for example, a stunning entrance to a small secret garden or a rose garden.

Sold in good condition. Each screen can be mounted directly to the wall.
