Elegant Louis XIV antique fireplace in stone

This antique fireplace hand-crafted in Chaillon stone, a natural limestone quarried in the Meuse department (Eastern France) is a beautiful Louis XIV mantelpiece, salvaged from the demolition of a stone house in Bar-le-Duc.

The thin and slender console-shaped jambs rest on massive foot blocks and are topped by an elegant lintel with a molded shelf. The jambs are adorned with finely sculpted flutes, while the lintel features intricate hand-carved details, including inset panels and a central oval medallion.

Elegant and timeless, this patinated stone fireplace will bring a unique charm to any room in which it is installed !
