Louis XIII countryside fireplace in stone

This 17th Century antique fireplace is made of “pierre de Vaucouleurs” stone. It was salvaged and unassembled in a post-relay which now no longer exists in the French department of Moselle.

This countryside fireplace adopted some characteristics of the Louis XIII architectural style: wonderful corbelled jambs, monolithic lintel used as a keystone, stunning cornice that keeps demonstrating the skilled craftsmanship of the former stonecutter.
