This very beautiful Renaissance style antique fireplace is made of pink marble with white veins.

The Renaissance style marked a clear break with the Middle Ages and offers new fireplaces with a wealth of sculpted details. This Renaissance style is strongly inspired by the Italian Baroque style.

This fireplace features tapering corbelled jambs sculpted with a band of finials resting on thick square foot blocks. The lower edge of the lintel is cut into curves. It is also finely sculpted with finials and is centered by a medallion flanked by symmetric palmettes. A beautiful finely molded shelf tops the whole piece.
