Antique Louis XVI style calcareous stone fireplace with trumeau

This antique calcareous stone fireplace is of the Louis XVI style. With its trumeau, it gathers the characteristics associated to this very geometric style. Indeed, the Louis XVI style fireplaces are characterized by the appearance of a much more geometric and rectilinear style. All the elements appearing on this beautiful fireplace (jambs, corbels, lintel, trumeau, cornice) are rectangular and have beautiful pure lines.

Carved out of a beautiful white limestone, it now offers a beautiful natural patina and will outfit any type of interior decoration.

We can see the opulent double molding appearing on the shelf and its lateral sides as well as on the superb cornice. The trumeau is centered by a molded frame flanked by carved colonnades in relief.
